The SeeRRI poster sessions provide an opportunity to share projects and practices implemented at the territorial level dealing with Responsible Research and Innovation. We welcome posters sharing expertise and practices across all disciplines, and at various stages of understanding and familiarisation with Responsible Research and Innovation.

Poster sessions will be held during the conference (29th-30th of September 2021) with dedicated time-slots, i.e., there will be no concurrent conference sessions. Posters will be displayed at the meeting venue from the beginning till the end of the 2-day event, giving visibility to your work.

Submission details

There is a three-step submission process:

Step #1: submit your abstract (Deadline: 14th July 2021)

Please fill in the form by including the following information (in English):

• Consent to make the abstract available on the SeeRRI project/ conference website (for accepted abstracts only)

Step #2: submit your poster (after abstract acceptance – Deadline: 10th September 2021)

After abstract acceptance, participants are invited to submit their poster using the SeeRRI Poster template, and to give their consent to making the poster available on the conference website.

Posters should be in English, and contain the following information:

• Title
• Keywords (up to 5)
• Information on the applicant (name, institution, email)
• Information on the territory
• Challenge(s) to be addressed
• Action(s) / process in place
• Results and territorial change(s) achieved
• Actors involved

• Consent to make the poster available on the SeeRRI project/ conference website

Step #3: submit your pitch-video (optional but recommended – Deadline: 17th September 2021)

Poster sessions are conceived as networking events. Participants are invited to attend the session in person and discuss the content of the posters with attendees.
All applicants are also invited to submit a pitch-video (3 minutes) to present the poster. Although optional, this is highly recommended.
The poster and video will be published on the conference website right after the event, giving the possibility to explain the work further for those unable to attend the conference physically, or giving extra visibility to the applicants attending the poster sessions.

Poster session topics
All topics related to Responsible Research and Innovation are of interest.
Posters should address changes at territorial level, which apply to a specific context, through the presentation of actions developed at territorial level on thematic elements of RRI and/or the process of implementation (e.g., multi-actor) of integrated actions. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

• the role of research & innovation
• public engagement
• specific techniques of engagement
• open access and open science
• gender equality
• ethical issues of research & innovation
• science education
• innovation in governance
• social inclusion
• transparency in decision-making
• innovation for sustainability
• anticipatory techniques

We believe there is no territorial change without institutional change, therefore posters are invited to highlight the set of integrated actions that led to institutional changes and, in turn, to the implementation of the territorial changes. We also believe that there is a place for the publication of negative results, so we welcome submissions of brave attempts at institutional change which met with limited success – and the lessons to be learned from them.

Selection criteria

Submitted abstracts will undergo a thorough selection process carried out by the Conference Editorial Board. Key selection criteria will be clarity, significance and methods. Additional information on the criteria might be published soon.
